Composed of one hundred fifteen coral and granite islands rising from the Indian Ocean, this pristine hideaway is the perfect place to enjoy unspoiled nature, palm-fringed jungles, white-sand beaches, majestic granite cliffs, and azure waters. Best of all is that wherever you go in the country, it’s easy to escape the crowds and feel like you’re on an exclusive getaway. It is widely known that Seychelles caters to only luxury travellers, But I will tell you how you can plan Seychelles in budget. Seychelles can never be extremely cheap but If you’re looking to enjoy and ok with basic guest houses on BB, local street food, car rental, island hopping by ferry, you can keep $100 budget per day.

Getting to Seychelles
If you’re flying from India, then airlines like Air Seychelles, Emirates, Ethiopian are also good options. However Air Seychelles, which is national carrier is a best pick for direct flight from Mumbai , If you book little in advance with their offers you can get return ticket under Rs30000/- Per head.
Airfares tend to be a bit cheaper during rainy season and low season.

Travel during low season
if you are on budget I will suggest you to travel during low season. Travelling during those time help you save money on your stay and most of the guest houses and hotels offers cheaper rates during that time. Plan your trip during these times  November to Half December , 10 January to February ,May, June and September

Visiting other islands
Ferries are the best and economical way to travel between island as helicopter and domestic flight can be really expensive. The best way to unravel Seychelles is through island-hopping. Jump from one island to the other through the well-connected ferries.

Try local transport
Private transfer and cabs can be little expensive for roaming around in the city, use Seychelles local bus transportation in Mahe and Praslin these are well-connected by buses and you will be charged 8 Seychellois Rupees for a trip. Apart from buses, you can either hire a cycle. Eden Island, Praslin and La Digue are smaller islands and can be explored on bicycle. This way you get the much-needed exercise and you can enjoy the view at your own leisure. Bicycling is best way to explore few parts of Seychelles.

Hiring self- drive cars
Yes, if you are the kind of tourist who takes things at their own pace, then renting a car in Seychelles might best suit you. It not only lets you enjoy the beauty of car rides across new horizons but also gives you the freedom to spend as much time as you want at a place. Instead of spending huge money on city tours you can explore on own by hiring a self-drive car for 24hrs just at US$50.

Finding affordable stay options
Guest house and self-catering apartment are the best way to save on accommodation in Seychelles. There are plenty of villas or apartments to rent in Seychelles and the prices can vary a lot depending on how fancy they are.

You can expect to pay something between 70 to 140 USD  for a self-catering apartment in Seychelles. the most important thing is that you will have a comfy room and access to kitchen utilities to cook your own food. It’s a great option for those visiting Seychelles on a conscious budget. There are uncountable options for that but here I am mentioning few which is coming to my mind at this moment Treasure island, Chez coco, kanasuk self-catering, Anse Serve beach villa etc. I can mention 100 of names but this is for example.  Travel companies and online portal can help you choose you best suitable as per area, requirement and budget of course.

Eat at small eateries
Eating out in restaurants in the Seychelles can be pricy even for fairly average food. It can cost you around US$20-30 Per Meal. However, the Seychelles is also full of places to get take-out, small bakeries, and food vans all over the islands, directly alongside main roads or signposted clearly, serving up local dishes for incredibly low prices. These are where many of the locals eat dinner, along with visitors who are looking for delicious and cheap eats. For only $3–5 USD, you can buy two main courses with a generous serving of rice and salad. These meals tend to be fresh, Seychellois dishes that change every day, typically curries made with fish, chicken, beef, or vegetables, served with rice and salad. There are also often Chinese-takeout-type dishes like fried noodles and rice.

Opt for budgeted activities
Excursions and water activities are expensive in Seychelles. One excursion can cost you around US$100 – US$200 Per Person depending on which tour you taking. Here is the solution –  most of hotels offer non-motorized activities complimentary and you can spend time chilling on numerous beaches, explore the Victoria city, cycle through La Digue, hike through the Morne  trails, chilling on Eden island. There are endless ways to enjoy in Seychelles without spending much.
